    Scopes

I won a new Moss 4x4 300 win mag a couple months ago. It has a scope on it, but I don't like it. Short eye relief and cheap looking. I was wondering if anyone has a rifle like this or this model and what scopes ya'll are using? Any issues with sighting in or how they handle the gun? I don't have a ton of money to spend on a new scope and trying to get some options.
    Thanks for any input

For cheap scopes I like Simmons. Middle of the road I like Nikon, and upper end would be Leopold, Zeiss, and Swaro. Buy the best you can afford. I have always been a Leopold guy, but I have a Nikon Buckmaster on my go to rifle, which is around a $200 scope. It has served me well.

I too have a Nikon Buckmaster and it is really good($200). A step down might be the Nikon Prostaff or a Bushnell Buckhorn or Legend. I would make sure to find out whatever scope I looked at that it could take the kicking of a 300 win mag.

I have a Nikon Monarch 5-20x44SF on my .300 WSM and it is just as good as any Leupold out there. When I bought it I looked through my scope and a Leupold VX-7 with similar stats, and the Nikon was much clearer and brighter than the Leupold. I'm not knocking Leupold, but for my money, I'll take the Nikon every day at a much lower price. I also have a Simmons 44 mag (3-9X44SF) on my wifes .243 and it is a very nice scope for what I paid for it. It will not complare to a Nikon Monarch or a Leupold, but I would say the quality is similar to a Nikon Prostaff for a much lower price. I only paid $110 for the Simmons.

May check out Vortex - great clarity, light gathering and easily withstands the recoil. They have a good line at competitive prices.

A nikon buckmaster would be a good one for around $200.
