Just started with the bow. I have a Bowtech Equalizer, set around 55 lbs. I've developed a bad habit of slapping the release trigger (a Tru-Fire) and my accuracy has suffered, but I've never had any soreness, even after shooting quite a bit.
I bought a thumb trigger release, a Tru Ball Pro Diamond Extreme. It has really improved the accuracy problem, but the draw length was a little more than the original release and I began to get some soreness right at the top of the shoulder.
Last week I shot just a few after work, and my shoulder got more and more sore after each arrow. Finally I had the good sense to stop. The shoulder is pain free now after about a week and a half, so I guess I didn't permanently injure it.
Do I start shooting easy again, or do I need to take the new release and bow into my archery shop and let them re-set the draw length for the new thumb trigger release?
