I would take it somewhere and pay a fee to get it transferred to digital. Then get rid of that camera and get a digital format. You can probably buy software and equipment to convert it but it wouldn't be very cheap. You could probably buy a new camera and it would make more sense.

You need to use a firewire connected to the camera and to the PC...........then use a video editing software to capture the video. Most computers have Windows Media Player and it is fairly simple to use. Shoot me a PM if you need more help and I will send you my phone number

I'm betting that the hi8 doesn't have firewire. hi8 is an analog format instead of digital.
