    Day hunts or not...?

I recently went to my feeder and sat in my pop-up for about 3-4 starting at 6:30 am and then left and did some work around my cabin and camp, then I returned to my feeder at around 4:30 and stayed until dark. Is it a better idea to stay all day? What extra gear will I need to do this? What type of things to you take for food... etc. I am asking this expecially because my uncle went this last weeked during a full moon and didnt see any but only hunted in morning and evening, i heard they feed during the day in full moon situations. It is also the rut, so is there a chance i will see more at a certian time?

I've always heard the same about the full moon. Read somewhere that a guy doesn't get in his stand till 9AM and has shot a couple of nice deer during a full moon. I think his theory was that they eat all night, bed in the morning and evening but during the middle of the day the get a snack so to speak. I don't think I'm mad enough at them to stay in the stand all day. LOL.

I personally don't have the patience to sit all day in the blind. BUT there is no doubt that deer move all day. Especially during the rut and in COLD weather.
So if you can sit all day you for sure increase your odds of getting one.

I have tired to sit all day, but it was miserable. Hunting to me is about enjoying the hunt, so I am not going to do something that makes me miserable while I am hunting. I am there to enjoy my time in the woods, so for me it does not work out.

During the rut and a full moon I'm gonna sit all day if I can. I usually pack a small lunch.

Thanks guys, this really helps. Also, if you dont hunt all day, how long do you stay in the blind? for 3-4 hours like me? ( i usually get there about 30-60 minutes before sunrise)

Stay as long as you can possibly stand it during a full moon....I know about several big bucks that were taken between 11:00am and 2:00pm.....Although I personally don't have the patience to stay all day, I try to hunt till atleast noon during a full moon

In Alabama creek in 2007 there were so many hunters I started going in around 9 and killed a nice 8 point with my Hoyt around 1 . I hunted this way for the weekends and saw a lot of deer that people pushed on their way to the truck. Then went back to dawn and dusk during the week.
