I've always grown up with allergies and asthma. It's rough to not be able to go outside much growing up to play football, or any other sports. Luckily for me, dad took me to the woods whenever he could, benadryl and an asthama puffer in hand of course. I've fought with sinus infections for many years. I had one 4 years ago and noticed some swelling inside my right nostril, when I went to the doc for antibiotics, I asked him what it was. He told me it was swolen tissue, nothing to worry about because it was there due to the swelling inside my nasal cavity. I didn't think anything about it. I changed doctors about a year ago and he's helped me out a lot with other problems and when I went in 2 weeks ago with ANOTHER sinus infection, he looked up my nose and asked me how long I had had that pollop. I told him that it was seen 4 years ago and I was told it was just swolen tissue. He sent me in for a CT scan that day and referred me to an ENT doctor for a follow up 2 days later. Last week he showed me the CT scan and told me that this was the worst case he had seen in along time. He highly recommended surgery and he asked me when I wanted to get it done, I told him as soon as possible because hunting season is coming up. He told me that my hunting season is shot. My septum has been under so much pressure from the swelling that it has been relocated against the outer side of my left nasal passage, there were numerous pollops in my sinus cavity, a fungus in my sinuses, pressure was against the thin layer of bone (as thin as an egg shell) against my brain and also against the thin layer of bone behind my right eye. I haven been feeling the pressure behing my eye for the last week, it's not a plesant feeling. I was told that I do not have any sinus cavities in my forehead which isn't all that uncommon but doesn't help me out with the problems that I do have. I'm scheduled for another CT scan this Wednesday (the 4th) and then surgery on Nov. 11th to remove and re-build my septum, clean out my sinus cavity and hopefully get rid of anything else that may be causing problems. The doc said I'll have stints in my nose for 1 to 2 weeks and be "out of comission" for 4 to 6 weeks. We'll see how things go. I haven't had any luck during bow season this year yet but I'm going to have to let the hammer down this weekend to get something in the freezer. I know this isn't a "serious" surgery but anything can happen. Thanks in advance for any prayers for me or for the people takin care of me. Good luck and stay safe!

Good luck and prayers for ya. I feel your pain.
I had sinus surgery a few years ago. After not breathing through my nose for over a year(my sinus cavity was completely blocked) My surgery was an out-patient thing. I had it done by Dr.Kiminsky in Grandbury. He and his staff were the greatest. On my way home, I removed the "packing" in my nose. My only pain, was from the hand full of gauze stuffed up my nose. And for the first time in over a year, air went through my nose and hit the back of my head. It was truly an amazing feeling,I had forgotten. But, there was one side-effect, it seems I have pretty much lost my sense of smell. Good luck to ya.
