We use it in Leakey every time we go. The WT don't do anything nut pick the corn out. The Axis,on the other hand will tear it up. I put out 100 lbs of sweet & 100 lb of corn. Two days later ther was noticable corn but there was no sweet left.

I sprinkle some at the feeder and make yardage markers at 20, 30 & 40 with it. TCs show the sitting broadside and munching!

Hogs love it, water and sweetfeed dont get along at all, it swells like crazy. I would never put it in a feeder myself. New powder out called the stuff, made right here in chester and in the feed stores, deer are taking it 10 to 1 over acorn rage, made by Lynn Barnes. He is working on getting it out nationwide next year and has a patent on it.

Be careful feeding any sheep feed to deer. Sheep can not handle copper so they take all of the copper out of the feed. If deer eat enough of this feed it can put them into an extreme copper deficiency. I'm not sure what this will do to a deer, but it can't be good for them. Also on a side note don't feed sheep deer feed, it can kill them from the high copper levels.
Hmmmm.....if the deer DONT eat this feed they are NOT getting copper (because they arent eating any kind of feed)
If they DO eat it they arent getting copper (because there isnt any in that feed)

Not sure I see where it will cause an "extreme copper deficiency"?

I do agree with not feeding horse or deer feed to sheep (unless its labeled for it), dang sheep are born looking for a place to die!

I have never had any trouble with it sticking when you mix one bag to a 50 gallon drum of corn.

I agree that in any normal outdoor setting, wether it be low fence high fence or whatever, deer aren't going to eat enough of this sheep feed to cause any problems. However IMO if I know it could cause a problem then I am not going to feed it, just my opinion which of course is worth next to nothin

I guess I just dont get what you are saying.

If you DONT feed it then they are NOT getting copper from feed that isnt there.
If you DO feed it then they are NOT getting copper from feed that is copper free.

Either way, they are NOT getting copper from feed.
If you put out a 50 pound sack every few days, or even mix it in with your corn feeder, they are still eating all the same browse they always eat. (getting all their minerals from natural food sources just like always)

Now I can see your point that if the deer were in a pen and ALL they had to eat was the food you put out, then they may suffer from some deficiency.

I walked around with the sweet feed bag tore open at the corner and spread it all over from 5 to 40 yards of my stand. It's still all over the ground and dried out looking. Maybe it's just foreign to deer at the time. That seems to be the case with licking blocks too. It's always a few months before i see indentions in salty type licks.

tried it a few times and it has worked and sometimes they walk right pass it,

I am going to stick with corn and maybe some apples and peanut butter.
