Acorns

I have a lease near Tuscola, just south of Abilene. There are only a few oak trees on the property, so the deer and the hogs are familiar with acorns. My stands are the other end of the lease from the oaks.
My buddy at work just brought me in a couple of garbage cans full of acorns.
What's the best way to use them? A bucket full at a time when I'm hunting? Adapt some kind of timed feeder to dispense them? A barrel wired to a tree, with a slot cut near the bottom?

Any ideas?

When we would collect acorns we would toss a plastic grocery bag mixed with deer attractant (i use black magic) under the feeder. We collected 2 trash bags full. So we had a lot to spread out- Not sure if it helped or not
