    Releases...

I have been shooting a regular rist strap release ever since I started bowhunting, but have rescently been thinking about switching to a thumb style release. What would be the pros-cons of this? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I tried that last year, but in the end I went back to my Scott Little Goose. I liked the thumb release for just shooting at the bag because it really helps keeping you on target and not punching the release.

I'm thinking about the same change. I have narrowed my choice down to a TRU Ball pro diamond if I make the change. My reasons are 1. I think I can get a better anchor, 2. Easier to manage in the stand, I don't like the wrist release perm attached to me 3. Scent, the release I have now has got to harbor some scent even though I have cleaned it and sprayed it down. I just can't decide if I want to change though. Also, I wonder how much, if any, it will change my draw length due to the change of anchor point.

From what I have gatherd, It wont change your draw length....just your anchor point.

i have been shooting the true-fire 3d hunter for 2 years and have no desire to go back to an index finger release. especially like the fact i can clip it to the D loop and let it hang, dont have to worry about trying to hook up with buck fever setting in.
