    Blackpowder rifle question

I have a buddy at work that is wanting to buy a blackpowder rifle. I personally have never shot one and know nothing about them so I am no help.

    Any of you shoot blackpowder?

    What rifle would you recommend?

His price limit is $500 with a scope, but would prefer to stay well below that if there is a decent rifle in that lower price range.

    Thanks.

bass pro shops or gander moutain or cabelas all have good rifles for under that. go with a 50 cal and get the true balck powder not the inline. some states do not accept inlines as black powder for black powder season

C.V.A. Maybe not know as the best, but we have been sponsored by them for two years now and have yet to have a problem with any of the rifles they have sent to us. Plus they have packages that are well under that price and they all shoot very well.

Save's you money to buy all the other stuff, Bullets, powder, cleaning supplies etc....

          +1

I bought a Traditions Hawken last year for $300. I can't get it to group well past 75 yards, but it's just a sweet gun to shoot!

I have personally owned Knight, Traditions, and CVA. The multiple CVA rifles Ive owned would shoot circles around the other 2 brands. I would get a CVA !

My favorite is a Remingto 700. It shoots great. I have not shot it in about 8 years.
