Just picked up one of those shipping crates from TGIL Monday. Looking for suggestions on window sizes. Was thinking on 12-16 X 24-30. Four on the front and one one each side.

As small as possible and as few as possible. They let light in and scent out. I suggest sitting, marking, then cutting small and then larger if you have to. We have stands w/windows 10 wide and 12 tall and those could easily be narrower. Jerp has it figured out with black exterior paint where the windows are. Thats about as good as it can get

I don't know how big your crate it but hopefully you can make the blind deep enough that you don't have to poke the arrow out the window when you stretch your bow arm to draw. You might be surprised how much shooting area you can cover out of a few small windows. You can also draw unseen between windows then shift slightly for the shot. My windows start 32" off the floor, BTW.

All I know is they can`t be big enough for me. I have gone twice in the last week and hunted out of a blind that is a gun blind. It is 8x8 with lots of room but small windows. they are alluminum sliding windows . When you open them you have have a 8"x8" to shoot out of.I wanted to try and make it work because the deer walk by it all the time and I thought I could throw corn on the ground and get them to stop , giving me an easy shot. I was right about getting a shot but the easy part was wrong. The windows need to be at least twice that tall. I had a axis doe 15 yards in front of me yesterday and when I drew back my bow I realized the arrow was going to hit the bottom of the window. So I readjusted, putting the arrow outside the window . The chair was a little to short also and I was haveing to stretch my upper body as well. When I released the arrow I relaxed my body just enough that the arrow barely glanced off the window frame and went over the axis by an inch. Next year I plan on building a groundblind with bowhunting in mind and the windows will be a priority.

saw one at academy that was nice...made out of fiberglass...had sliding windows, and was blacked out inside...I believe it was 4x6. gonna go back and take a good look at it and take a bunch of pics. These will be buried in the brush, so they will most likely only have one window in the front, and no floor to keep it quiet. Would like to figure out some way to make it hornet/bee proof if possible...never fun to crawl into a box blind with a bunch of hornets in the corner.
