Duck Season!!!!

If I was as crazy as some people think, next Tuesday I'd got to sleep after dinner, get up at midnight, go out for hogs, and then leave at 2:30 for ducks. Hmmmmmm..........

Just went this morning up here....We killed 8 mallard drakes 3 bull sprigs, 4 wigeon and the rest green wings....pretty good morning could have killed the limits with all mallards and pintail though....

Are you allowed 2 sprig this year in your daily limit? They raised it from 1 in Cali, the sprig population is healthy.

I got lucky this year for Alazan, I can walk out to the shoreline now

I mainly hunt the Grullo, Salada's to deep with the load of dekes I take and fastgrass so it's safer for me. Plus since the point is more suited to walk in hunters all I got to do is paddle away from them and they'll push the birds to me

Russ81 since you are familiar with the Laureles div. of the King Ranch are the lakes just inside the beach north or compuerta pass legal for public duck hunting. I have seen some blinds in there but I am not sure if they are there by the public or King Ranch.

Ill be at my favorite tank tomorrow! This will be my 12 yr. old sons first season to hunt too! We got alot of ducks for this early in the season.

Russ81 since you are familiar with the Laureles div. of the King Ranch are the lakes just inside the beach north or compuerta pass legal for public duck hunting. I have seen some blinds in there but I am not sure if they are there by the public or King Ranch.

Do you mean Comitas lake on the west side of Alazan??? If it's those then they're private, since only storm tides or REALLY high tides can get in there, but that's what the GW told me when we caught poachers in there a few years ago. If they had normal tides on a daily basis like the slough up by the CP&L power plant and bluffs landing they'd be public like that area is.

I know the company that had the lease there, are they PVC duck blinds???

Also me and Three other Laureles guys have never heard of Compuerta pass on Laureles, where's it at or is called another name maybe???
