Ive been shooting nothing but the federal blue box in my .308's .270's and .300's for a year or two now. Its loaded with the speer hot core bullets and Ive had great luck with them. A hunter I had one weekend turned me onto them. I really like them especially when Im picking them up at walmart for about $13 a box.

I typically shoot the hornady light mag with the 130grn interlock or the hornady custom with the same bullet.

Years ago I used to shoot the Hornady Light Mags. They served me well.

I have loaded for them but did not have any luck on paper so they never made it to the field...I do understand they preform very well on game and a tough pill.

One of the things I liked best about the TBBC was the weight retention. Always got a big exit hole.

My 270 has the BOSS on it so i can do some dailing in with it.

I shoot the Federal Blue Box too. For deer, especially Texas sized, there is really no reason to use a deep penetrating, expensive bullet. I've shot the Federals out to 200 yards and the deer were dead when the sound of the gun going off got to them.

That same bullet took at 200lbs hog at 300 yards too.

Remington 150 Grain Core Lokt Soft Points. Found at all Academy's and and most other sporting goods stores. Devastating round. Everything i've hit has dropped like a sack of bricks. Including 300lb boars.

This! I shot a red deer cow right through the shoulders at 225 yards with them. She only went 15 yards and I found the bullet in the skin of the offside shoulder with very nice uniform expansion.

x3 on the 130 gr. core-lok! Axis to WT...always find it right under the skin in a nice mushroom.

Getting much blood with the core-loc? The price is good.

Odds are you will not need blood, most of the deer I have shot fall within feet....
