    Rage replacment blades.....

Has anyone bought the Rage replacement blades and found the ten dollars you save in re-building the heads is completely not worth money and effort spent to change them? What a pain in the @$$. I will continue to shot them but I will pay for the blades already made up from now on.... I would rather have my butt whipped then to rebuild another set of those heads.

After you rebuild a few it wil get a lot easier and you will see that it saves you quite a bit of money. The machined body of the head does not easily get messed up , just the replaceable point and blades and with a little patience and some steady hands, you can do it.

Kinda frustrating the first time, but once you get it down it will save you some $$$.

IMO, if it hit hard enough to damage the blades, the body could be a little out of whack too.

The only time I have had trouble with the allen screws is if I had some blood or guts on them and didn't clean them up right away. Like if they spent a season in my tackle box, they were froze up and couldn't get them out without stripping them. That was my negligence. I'm using the rage exclusively and will probably harvest 20 deer with them this year, so I have to use replacement blades. I have had a little luck sharpening the blades when they are removed.

Thanks for the info haven't tried to replace blades, but with your post, I won't. these co's do this just to get you to buy the product, get married to it, advertise replacement blades, etc, but don't tell you the headaches behind it all. don't get me wrong I love the rage and I'll keep buying them, the whole package

I'm just not steady enough and my big fat fingers have a hard time holding those little pieces. I changed the blades on a spitfire one time and felt just like you, just buy new ones...

I haven't replaced any on the Rage, but I did on some Rocket Slammerheads, and my eyes and hands had a hard time. I went to the ST, and I still have to replace the blades nearly ever shot but it is alot easier.

I thought my heads had the little pins that you knock out, come to find out they have the allen screws. Now I've buggered them up and can't get them out so as a result can't replace the blades. What do I do?

I just sharpen my old blades while they are on the broadhead. I can get them better than the originals!
