    Calling success?

Anyone in Texas had any success with a grunt, bleat, horns or anything yet THIS YEAR? I've tried a few times with no response but I usually don't have any luck with deer calls anyway.
If you have or haven't lets hear about your attempt and what county you did it in.

Tried fawn bleat, doe bleat, grunts and some horn tinkling in LimeStone County with ZERO responses.

I am over in Fairfield and was going to check my camera that's in the deep woods and was walking thru the woods blowing a grunt call that I found that I had lost last year. I no more had found the grunt tube and was blowing it to see if it still worked when I had a nice buck almost run over me until I yelled at him. I kept on walking to check the camera blowing the call and had another buck run towards me crashing thru the brush but don't know how big he was he turned tail and run when he caught my movement. I saw 2 bucks chasing a doe Saturday morning.

I was hunting last Saturday morning and seen a 6 point running with 4 does about 80 yards out. I blew my grunt call and he came straight towards me! Unfortunately not a shooter in my county. The does never came my way!

tried a bleat and grunt call last friday evening in Sheridan. Saw a spike just a few minutes after the first try. Not sure it I called him in or if he just came to the feeder.

I have had a lot of luck using a grunt call in late october. The most important thing to remember is that if it works just once out of ten times then it worked.

Wow, not to far from me either. We haven't seen any sign of rutting yet. Maybe in the next few weekends.

Myself and Dcrow used a bleat can last week and had a young spike come in all bowed up. He made us though and had no part of it!

I usually don't use any types of calls here in Texas. I think i've scared more away then i've called in.

That's about what I feel about it. I was hoping to get some advice from those that have a good amount of action using calls.
Yes, I realize it really helps when you have a high buck to doe ratio, and I DO NOT, but surely it can still be productive...

I had an 8 pt come in to the Primos can call. I don't use it much though, maybe once an hr.
