Just hand toss some corn on the out side of your pen, I wouldnt advise shooting through any thing like that even with a rifle. If you had enough patience to watch him jump in then he will probably jump back out for a shot.
Our feeders are surrounded with panels so I just scatter some chum corn outside the pen in my shooting lanes. Most of the time the go to that corn first - they'd rather eat without jumping in the pen if they don't have to.
Create a swing door in the panel infront of your blind. When you hunt just open the paneling and close it when you leave. Its what I do and works perfectly!
