Climber screwup

The other day at our lease I climbed 30-35 ft up a pine and while sitting and adjusting everything I kicked the bottom section and it fell to the trees base leaving me sitting high and dry.Funny thing my first reaction wasnt Oh No but did anybody see me. Using the top section and your legs hugging the tree is kind of an inconvenience but can be done.The stand is made where you can fasten the pieces together but I was in a hurry.Think next time I"ll fasten them together.Just hoping I can keep someone else from making the same mistake.

Yep that is what that rope was for!

I've had one climber and it did the same thing.After that I welded it to the top of a ladder and made a ladder stand out of it.I am glad everything worked out for you.

I wasnt ever worried when it happened,sat and laughed to myself,then started down.Just passing along to tie em together.

Yep that is what that rope was for!

Almost happened to me because the rope was longer than I thought. You can bet I shortened it when I got down!

Been there, dang legs just wouldnt stretch any further to get to that darn base! Needless to say it only happened once!
