When do you suppose the rut will hit?

I'm hunting in Tyler county. Woodville area. Anyone know when the rut should hit this year?

If I were you I'd get out there asap. Don't wait till they are locked down with the doe's. It should be on now. JMO from what I'm seeing.

I was there last weekend (three days ago) and they weren't ruting at all from what we seen. Seen a nice 8 pointer that was just a hair shy of the legal inside spread and he was by himself and very calm. Saw a couple of does by them self and no one was in a hurry for nothing. Didn't see much at all actually.

I agree, not much action right now. It's really hit or miss I think with the ruts depending on where you are. I live in Brazoria county and reside in a neighborhood with lots of deer, wildlife preserve and part of the scenery (can't kill em'). They were running around all crazy with there nose to the ground and humping on does and snorting and stuff two weeks ago. Saw a really good fight between two eight points. The rut's already hit down here and my hunting lease is only three hours away up northeast of here.

Typically in Polk county/Livingston, they get going the last two weeks of October. It should be prime time within the next week.

it's all pre-rut activities now with a few "easy" doe ready for action now. Rut should kick in full swing for N of approximately I-10 around Nov 2nd. South of there you'll have to wait until around Dec 2nd for full rut.

can't kill them from the couch so get out and hunt when you can it's almost here!

                    It's on right now...

My brother saw a nice 8 chasing 3 does this afternoon and tagged one I think. About 4pm, spotted him two days in a row.

Think I'll be ok if I can't make it back up there until November 7th? I'll be there for a whole week, actually nine days.
