Found some stuff from 2007. Wondering if its still good.
I just grilled up a nice chunk of back strap from a deer killed Nov 07 last night and it was just as tasty as can be.
I cool storage (34 -36 degrees) my game after processing and let it age for 14 - 18 days, then freezer wrap then vac/pac and have gone 3 years before and the meat is still tasty.
Sounds like everyone on here thinks it is still okay. I can't say because none of my venison ever lasts that long. We will eat it 3 to 4 days a week until we run out.
I would say it depends on how it was wrapped and if there is any freezer burn on it....2 years is a long time and quality could be not as good as 1 year old meat....
