    Videoing questions

Well I went and bought a new (refurbished) video camera, now I need some advice on what else I will need.

I know I need some kind of camera arm, an extended life battery and some good tapes.

What else do I need that is commonly overlooked by someone starting out?

Also wht kind of bag do most of you use? I am thinking about the Avery camera bag (around $25 and water resistant).

Oh yeah, I have the TBH "Its All About The Video", when is the sequel coming out?

I'll tell you the one thing I overlooked when I first started out and that was a good tripod, especially if you are doing any filming from a ground blind. You are going to want to go with a fluid head, you can tell a HUGE difference. Also some type of good editing software might be something you want to look into. I just use Windows Movie Maker for now, but there are a lot of good ones on the market as well.

Thanks Justin for the reply, I plan on getting a good fluid head but the editing software will be down the road

Tripod or camera mount for tree stand or box blind....
a good durable bag that has some storage for other items....
          lots of tapes.....
an extension for your video cords so you can sit on the couch or chair to watch video versus standing up by TV...

I built a camera mount here for cheaper than I could buy one..... http://discussions.texasbowhunter.co...t=camera+mount

BT if you are talking about the Canon Z950..... I bought this 5-6 hr this extended battery off ebay and have been pleases...

...scroll down and get the name and a search will show you another auction.....ard to beat for $24 and a limited lifetime warranty.

I would get a car charger for your camera batteries.....never know where you will be when you need to charge a battery.......tons of tapes for sure. Also if your camera lense will take one I would get a protective lense for it.......

And you have to have patience to self film your hunt. You will find yourself passing on shots just to get good video.......good luck this year.............
