This is not your normal broadhead thread!!!!!!

My questions are specifically about the Grizzly Stick broadheads, the Masai and the Samurai, along with the silver flame. Does anyone have ANY complaints with any 3 of these. I am going elk hunting and I am fully aware that many breaheads will take down an elk, but this my be the hunt of a lifetime opportunity for me, and I want to make sure my broadhead will do the job even if I am a little shaky and don't make a great shot ( i.e. hit large bone, so please don't tell me about any mechanical heads). I am preparing for the worst and "planning" on hitting the scapula. So the question....

I will be shooting between 65-70# at 29" with a 445 gr. arrow going right at 260 fps. Is single or double bevel the way to go, or is it ever wrong to go with single bevel?

Also, I have looked at Steel Force and Magnus Stinger heads and like what I see. Does anyone have success stories about blowing through large bone with these head?

    Thanks for the help.

i tagged a hog "threw" the so called shoulder using a 660 gr. double bevel. It wasn't my plan just a bad shot. the hog went down in less then 30 yards. but ive read fred asbels article on Alaskan Archeries Website and I am not one to argue with his years of experience and research.

to me shot placement is critical no matter what broadhead you choose. put the arrow in the boiler room and 99% of any broadhead on the market will take care of business.

Here is my take on things. If you are going on a hunt of a lifetime, then spend the money and get the best. I would get some German Kinetics. They are great heads.

Marty (Buff) has killed just about anything and everything with them. I would send him a PM and talk to him about his opinions on the broadheads. He would be my first choice for any questions I have.

I shoot these heads, they fly great, unfortunately the only blood that has been on them is mine, those suckers are razor sharp.
