    Hows hunting around harper, tx

A buddy and I are headed out next weekend for a hunt in harper TX. We were high bidders on it at a silent auction fund raiser and are looking forward to a good weekend. If anybody can help me out with general deer condition and size it would be greatly appreciated. It looks like we can each shoot a buck or doe. Just unsure of the conditions out there.

    Thanks

130 class bucks are possible, not probable (unless your on a high fence ranch). Does are plentiful. 120 class bucks are more likely. Should be a good hunt, we had a lot of fun in Harper for 5 years or so.

There are plenty of deer and right now we've got them coming to corn....at least down the road in Mt HOme. Tire Master is right, 120's are a plenty in the area. I've seen some better just driving down 479 though. Good luck.

I hunted in Harper for 20 years (up until this season). Lots of deer, you'll see decent bucks for the most part, maybe one worthy of putting on the wall. Do you want to share the name of the ranch where you'll be hunting? If not that's fine. The deer in my avatar is the last buck I shot off my old lease. My first with my bow. Good Luck, Harper is a beautiful area.

Heres a harper deer that my buddy shot last year...scored low 120's but a beautiful deer nonetheless.

Here are a couple of pics from the last 2 years. Hunting has been a little slow on our place. We had a lot of acorns, but thanks to the goats they should be nearly gone. And like was said above they have been moving late.
