I turn 58 this Thursday, no meds required yet. I still feel 30ish until I look in the mirror. I'm not a grandfather but my Dad used to say that being a grandfather was no big deal, it was the thought of being married to a Grandmother that hurt.
That's exactly what my Dad said when our son was born, 1st grandchild.

I am 56 and all I can say is "it is he## getting old!"

The thing i noticed the most was that after hitting the big 50, my skin, especially on my arms and back of my hands started getting thin and when you bumped one, it either bruised or bleed like a stuck hog.

You know your old when you set down to take a bath and your sack starts to float!

I turned 51 in August. Still shoot my 63# longbow and 67# reurve. Try to stay in shape but it gets tougher with two jobs and volunteer work keeping me busy. Don't use chain-on stands as much as I used to. Ladders and tripods work fine. Box blinds are starting to look good too.

I think it was an Andy Capp cartoon that said "You're still young if the morning after the night before still makes the night before worth the morning after." Some of you fellers may have to read that twice...

Ok, so no one else has said it "Happy birthday!"

Happy belated Birthday. How did I miss this old man thread. Oh that's right, I spent 14 hours this weekend, sitting on a bucket 15 foot up in a tree. My back tells me I'm 55.

...................but some things still make me feel like a kid.

                    Belated Happy Birthday mjhaverkamp.

Flippin 54 next Sunday. I don't think that 50 is the new 39, but if you keep the weight off and the aerobics up, I think that a body age of low 40's is possible. Hell, there are folk that are 40 something that have a body age of 50 something.

The key is to keep in shape best you can mentally and physically.

What's cool is that when you are this age:

                    1. You can still think young and pretty much hang with those much younger
                    2. You have more $$$ (more play toys and more hunt-fish-vacation events)
                    3. Your kids are out of the house or mostly so... LOL.
                    4. Said kids are perhaps about to have kiddoes so..... being a Grandad who helps turn the grandkids on to hunting-fishing can be a great time also.

                    Live in the moment . . .

                    This is prime time!

Say it with me people: 50 IS THE NEW 30. And keep telling yourselves that.

                        Happy birthday all!

When I was growing up I thought 50 was a old man but I am 67 and thank 85 is old man. I feel like I am 40 now but you can't do as much as you once could.
