Do deer get spooked by human waste?

ok a little background info for you! in all the years that i've hunted, i've never pee'd or dropped duece anywhere near my hunting area while in the woods. Reason i'm asking and telling this is that i finally got the wife to go hunting with me. Thing is, she is 4 1/2 months pregnant. and constantly has to go!!! she asked me this eveing the if she could use the bathroom in the woods. i told her that i personally dont go anywhere near my hunting grounds. I know people that will go right off there tree stand!!! so i'm asking other peoples experience and knowledge! what do you think?

I've never had a problem with peeing near my stand. I just kick a bunch of dirt over it. As far as 'dropping a deuce'....never in the woods.

I used to be like you.

Ever since my dad shot a 142" with his bow at 16 yards 10 minutes after peeing at the trunk of the tree he was sitting in, I haven't been worried about it.

There's a lot of things that pee / "drop deuces" out there. I'm sure they smell it, but I don't think they necessarily put the smell with humans/danger.

I agree, opening weekend this year, we couldn't get a deer to our feeder, but they were all around us. My dad stepped out of the blind to pee, and said, "**** I've got my junk hanging out and a doe is looking right at me" she was about 30 yards away, and would have come in but the movement ran her off, not the pissing. He's like a pregnant woman, so I know #1 doesn't bother them.

well i'm taking your word for it and i'll blame the pregnant lady if she scares my deer away! haha yea right, like i could get away with that one. somehow she'll manage to turn it around and it'll be my fault...

I took a leak out of my tree stand Saturday evening. Before dark had a buck eating hand corn less than 5 yds from the spot. I say they smell those smells and don't associate them with danger.
The first buck I ever shot at, saw for that matter, over 20 years ago came trotting along while I was taking care of bidness. I had my gun in one hand, my rifle in the other and the buck stopped under 20yds from me and turned broadside while looking back at me! Combo of stage fright and buck fever and I missed him every time I fired.
Oh, and if I could get my pregnant wife to go to the stand with me, I wouldn't care if she scared the deer!

I use to be like you as well......this past weekend, my son pee'd once inside our double bull blind, once outside before I killed my doe. Personally, I pee in every scrape I am able too and have seen them refreshed on numerous occasions.

I am beginning to think my whole shower between hunts, change clothes, scent lock suits, money spend on scents, etc..obsession was all for nothing.

I would have let my wife pee anywhere too if I could just get her in the woods. Good luck with the hunt.

Best scrape freshener on the market and all it cost is a few beers (or cokes for those of you that don't partake).

ive seen it both ways taking pee smoke and deer dont even raise there head .also seen deer walk by trail walked in 2 hours earlier and bolt and run seems to depend on how many deer in area seem to bother least amount in heavly populated deer areas less have seen keep running a mile out of site and never stop ,so do whatever you need for me the least amount as possible if giving a choise
