Chiggerex plus--you can buy it at Wally helps a little as does Aveeno oatmeal baths in as hot water as you cant stand--then you just burn instead of itch which is a relief! Unfortunately mine itched for four plus weeks--yeah I scratched and probably shouldnt have but Jack and Coke works best of all! Good Luck!

Drinking a mixture of Creme of Tartar and OJ BEFORE you go into the woods is supposed to keep chiggers and tic's away/off. The OJ camo's the taste. Works for me.

I used sea breeze. It is an astringent and it burns when you put it on but then it gets cool and stops the itching. They cleared up in 5-6 days.

The only cure for chiggers is to either spray down with Off (or something like it) before you go out and get them, once you get through going out, take a bath and scrub, and once you get them scratch them because you are going to itch for a while.....

Tried many things- absorbine, bleach, clear fingernail polish, meat tenderizer, etc. Bleach works the best if you dont get a chemical burn, Nail polish works the next best. Other than that, you are going to itch for 5- 7 days. Absorbine (or Sea breeze) works well b/c it cools the skin down.

Google is a hell of a drug.....

What is the treatment for chigger bites?

Many home remedies for chigger bites are based upon the incorrect belief that chiggers burrow into and remain in the skin. Nail polish, alcohol, and bleach have been applied to the bites to attempt to "suffocate" or kill the chiggers. But because the chiggers are not present in the skin, these methods are not effective.

Treatment for chigger bites is directed toward relieving the itching and inflammation. Calamine lotion and corticosteroid creams may be used to control itching. Oral antihistamines, such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl), may also be used for symptom relief.
