    Big Time Texas Hunts

Have any of you guys and gals bought any entries into these TPWD hunts? I bought several and am hoping for a chance. I just thought it was a great way to give the department some money and a chance to get a good hunt. Have any of you ever won? Deadline is October 15! Info is on their website.

For the most part it was great.
The Bighorn hunt was fantastic. I've never hurt so much in my life. We climbed up and down that hill for 3 days. Everyone at Elephant Mountain treated the wife and I like royalty.

The Whitetail hunt was at Plaska Lodge in Plaska TX. First time I had done a spot and stalk for a deer. I have to say it was one of my best shots of my life. 350 yards bedded down. He never got up.

The Pronghorn hunt at the MacGuire Ranch has some real nice goats. Mine scored 84. Prepare for some long shots. I jerked the trigger at 125 yards and just nicked him in the leg. He went another 300 yards before he limped to a stop. Nailed him on the second at just over 400 yards.
The Mule deer is the one I feel I didn't do as well. It was on the Puckett Ranch near Fort Stockton. Saw some of the biggest Whitetails of my life. When the deer I took showed up all I saw was that it was a 5 x 5 and didn't really look at the spread.
