maybe be just a little to early. I have seen some scrapes showing up but I do not think they are being worked and or checked yet. Our bucks or still running together. May start busting up this week.

I have had good luck making mock scrapes.

What I have done in the past is take a little scent free "kitty litter" or absorbent type material and place it in a zip lock bag. Then squirt/poor Dominate Buck urine, I prefer using Tink's DBU, on scent free "kitty litter" type absorbant, then place only the "kitty litter" on the mock scape.

This method hold the scent on top of the dirt and it is more concentrated. Also if a deer "hits" the scrape you will be able to tell really easy because the kitty litter will be scattered. When that happens add more.

I was wondering the same thing. I had three fresh scrapes near my stand when season started, but they haven't been touched in about a week. I thought about "freshening" one up, what do y'all think?

I make my own each year on a property here by the river I hunt. I use my rubber boot and sometimes a stick,etc... pick a tree with a good licking branch above it hanging down right height. After making a clean area on the ground I freshin it up with a little Howards root oil every time I am out there- on the way out. Watched a little buck sniff it good and use it 3 days later after making most recent one. Hoof tracks have been in it everytime I go out there and check it...proof positive Tinks wont be getting any more of my money to pour on the ground. Been doing this about 5 yrs now. I sometimes put a scent dripper high above the licking branch with a little store bough doe pee, wonder if deer ever wonder how it got so high on their licking branch but they dont seem to care. There was a thread a few weeks ago and I posted some pics of the deer using it.

I wathed buck hitting scrapes last weekend. I would not expect much from them right now, but it is a good time to start them.

I think most of the activity at scrapes is done at night. Not to say they can't be killed in the daytime at a scrape. These early scrapes are probaly boundry scrapes and are usually not re-visited. At least that has been my experience.
I still love to fool with mock scrapes. You never know....

I haven't seen many scrapes this year but I'm going to try a mock scrape with a little bit of my own "Tinks" and see what happens. I've been told that it all smells like amonia after awhile anyway.

All I do is rake the ground with a stick and then just pee in it. I have seen by the pics of my TC, 4 different bucks work it that night. But to really work them up, make a srape line with at least 4 scrapes.
