    SSssssswwwiinnnnnng andamiss!!

2.5 hours in the stand+Fat Doe at 17yds+Rushed first shot of the season = Arrow flying over her back. OUCH!!! Oh the pain...Oh the misery.
I'm dying here. Somebody stop the emotional bleeding.

What made it worse was that the doe stumbled when she was running off and snorted several times. When she went down blowing, I was sure I had made a high lung shot even though I knew the arrow went too high. When I checked the arrrow, it was completely clean. Nothing but the mud on the tip where I buried it into the ground.

I was so calm about the miss that the guy I was hunting with thought I must be superman. I waited until he drove off before breaking down like an upset 5 year old. It is lousy to relive, in vivid color mind you, the mistakes that lead to a bad shot. At least I didn't wound her and have to back out.

I would rather have a clean miss than a bloody arrow and no deer.

      There is always next time!

There seem to be alot of "shot and cant find animal" threads on here this week.
Along with post about unethical shots. I mean I know it happens but we may be putting bullets in some Anti's "gun".

Keep your chin up and keep going after them.

Better a clean miss. Now you are ready you got the bad shot out of the way. Just learn from the mistakes that caused the miss. Everybody that has spent any time in the woods with a bow has experienced that same thing. We all make mistakes and we can all learn from them and that only makes us better.

hang in there. last year i missed the biggest deer i had ever shot at. got up went and looked at arrow, no blood. looked at area where buck ran off no blood. it was mid morning so i went back to my tripod and pouted. 30 minutes the new biggest buck i had ever seen came in and i was unprepared and fouled up a shot on him too (clean miss didnt have my rage blades in good and it sailed off on me). it happens, thats part of the challenge. dont let it get you down, they won round one but you can wint the next one. just dont sull up over it like i did!
