    Poundage

I've always been curious about this question. I have a 60-70 lbs bow and I only shoot it at 63 lbs. Would I get maximum performance out of a 50-60 lb bow, crank it all the way down or backing off of a 70 lb bow. So my question is would I get better performance out of the 60 lb bow over the 70lb.? My guess is that I could crank a 60 lb bow to around 63 lb, which is the same that I'm shooting now. Any opinions on this?

Yes, it would be a little more efficient because it will be tighter and draw-length will be more true, but not enough to purchase a new bow for, unless you're looking for an excuse.

I wondered the same thing cuz was always told a bow performs best maxxed out, then I went to a shop and one of the owners told me that it actually performs better about 6-7 pounds lower than the max weight! So according to him your fine shooting a 70# pound bow at 63#.I have a 60# and shoot it at 53#s thats what he said anyways!I shoot a Hoyt dont know if its true for all bows!

Are you unhappy with your bow's performance? Or are you just wanting to blow some cash to make you feel better. lol

I would say stick with your current setup. I would only drop down in weight if you are struggling with 60 lbs.

I'm fine with the weight, just want to get the max out of my equipment.

my 60lb bow maxes out at 62.

I by no means struggle to pull 70lb but my accuracy has improved dramatically dropping down to the 60lb bow.

It could be because it's a bowtech!
