    Managed land permits and records

Just finished our survey and got the new forms for data collection for managed land deer permits. Nothing has changed from last year. There was a thread last week that said that there was a bunch of new data, like lactating does, individual base measurements, and even live weight.

Is anyones form different from mine?

The biologist we work with did not mention any changes. He advised no changes from last year - jaw, dressed weight, age and any special notes. Lactation would be worth mentioning. As far as the bucks go, there is a sheet that has to be completed, but I cannot remember what all it had on it.

i heard that there was changes. This was from a Biologist. You need to confirm it. Dont just trust there is not. Some field biologist may not have read there emails as they have been busy doing ranch visits and Heli surveys.

The forms I received do have a lacatation Y/N blank. I have an eletronic copy at work I will post if anyone is interested, I also received a email from Whitetail Domain that outlines the changes.

The Whitetail Domain article is incorrect. It states that all the new info on the form is required. It isn't. There are columns for additional information, like both beam lengths instead of just one, and gross/net B&C score, but this information isn't required. The new form just gives you an option to collect additional data, if you want to.

Interesting....I will follow up on this as I was told by the biologist that all the data fields in the Excel worksheet were required.

              Thanks!

I just received an e-mail from TPWD that states that the article or e-mail sent out by "Whitetail Domain" is SPAM and should be disregarded. There are NO changes in reporting of harvest information from last year. The forms that are available from Whitetail Domain are not official forms and should be disregarded.
