    Night Vision compatible rifle scope

I read somewhere that the Leopold Mk 4 is compatible with night vision. I know some of you guys are a lot more knowledgable than I am so I need someone to explain this to me if they can.

I have a gen III monocular, does this mean I could wear my monocular and look thru the scope or does it mean I could mount a night vision device in front of my scope?

    Please help educate me

    Thanks

I believe the Mk4 is mounted behind the NV scope. It never hurts to try with your mono first. I know the NV Eotechs such can be used with NV even with a magnifier.

A buddy of mine bought one of those cheap "night owl" things from Wally World, and one night just for snickers and giggles, I put it behind my Bushnell rimfire scope, and could see the crosshairs plain as day...now whether or not it effects P.O.A/P.O.I, I don't know, I didn't shoot it, but nonetheless I could see the crosshairs.

All rifle scopes are compatible with NV they are just glass. The better glass you have the better you will be able to see. I would not go any smaller than 40mm as it just not gather enough light.

OK this makes sense I guess, but it seems to me that it might work wearing the momocular and looking thru the scope. I might be able to see well enough but I'm not sure I would want to shoot it that way. I'm wondering now how it would effect eye relief, would you still have your eye say 4" away from your scope or the end of the monocular? If it is you eye you for sure would get a good hard kiss from your scope on recoil. If it is the end of the monocular it seem the head would be way out of position for a good shot. anybody have experience with this?
