    De-badging and Super Glue

I de-badged my Tacoma. Side badges came off and all the tailgate badges came off.

I had taken the "TACOMA" badges and painted them flat black and re-applied them. It looked ok, till one of them fell off. I had used badge glue from Auto Zone. I pulled the one off my tailgate and put it back on the door that had fell off.

Without thinkin of the consequences......I used Super Glue.

Now.....the other badge has sincet fallen off and the black paint is chipping bad on the one that I Super Glued.

How do yall think I can get the super glued badge off my truck without pullin a couple layers of paint off?

I bought some "debonder" at Rockler that actually works. Well, it did when I CA glued my fingers to a pen tube! I think you can get the superglue remover/debonder at Blowes or Homo Depot also.

Acetone. It's what super glue debonder is made of and a he** of alot cheaper. Works good for starting fires too

Will it hurt the clear coat? Unlike a tree?

I'm afraid the super glue has probably already hurt the clear coat, but I don't think acetone will. I've used it on a truck before.

Yes it will.I would try some WD-40 before the acetone.

mineral spirits will be easy on the paint, spray it on or dab it on so that it soaks behind the emblem. Im afraid acetone will damage it further, if not start "melting" the emblem.
