    TBH Express: DFW to Texarkana...

Trying to finish a bow for Daniel Ryan's little brother in time to possibly hitch a ride with someone headed to Texarkana for the weekend. Anyone heading that way?

    Here are some pics...

Sorry for the delay getting this built for your brother, Daniel.

If this bow makes it through the "process", maybe these upgraded tips will make it up a little.

The tips are made from a shed antler that I picked up on the King Ranch several years ago. Not many folks have a bow with tips made from actual King Ranch antler...

No problem, Ronnie. I still got some work to finish this one anyhow...you do any good down south?

I just ran about a dozen arrows through it and it's got some 'zip'...now that Team Neotribe is award winning, we do have standards to uphold.

Joey, Turkey huntin was tuff. Drought really hurt the turkey and the quail. I called in one tom. He didn't like my set-up. Turned and went around me.

But I did kill two hogs with my bow.

        PS... Nice pictures

Keith and I are about 1/2 way between Dallas and Texarkana. We might be able to help out.

Joey, I'm headed through there in July, if you'll just hold off a bit.

RSATT, I intend to go harrass the staff at GM while I'm there. Expect me. I'll check out the Stingers then. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you on them.

Well, Lake Fork is about 20-30 miles south of us. We might could meet Rsatt some where. Maybe he could get it the rest of the way to Texarkana?

Joey, Audra. I'm going to Cotulla again the 23th and coming back the 27th. I can pick it up the 27th. I know Daniel. I brought him a long bow from SticShooterSouth Texas) last year.

                  Let me know.

Tracey, I cutting back on my Gander Mtn hours. Let me know when you are coming. I'll buy you a beer

If you look at the bottom limb (in the first picture of this thread) very closely, you can see some 'suspect' grain direction. I hoped more of it could be taken off with the taper but when that wasn't possible, I just hoped it'd pass the 'testing'.

It shot really well with an arrow on it last night. So, I left it strung over night. I shot it some more this afternoon and started finish-sanding it. Shot it a few more time and then did some dry-fire testing. After about the 10th time, it failed. If I'd never dry-fired it it would have been fine but I know there's no way a kid's not gonna dry-fire a bow.

If it's gonna break, I want it to break here and in my hands.

Since you already know Daniel, I really like that 27th idea, Ronnie. I have enough antler left over from that shed to try it again.

Sorry, Daniel & Seth. I'll try to pick a better board for the next one.
