    Deer and Cotton fields???

Found out this weekend the rancher/farmer is going to put some of the wheatfields into cotton for next year. Never hunted a place that has cotton fields. Rancher said that it would be some of the best hunting b/c the deer love the cottonseed. I have seen a few deer eatin cotton and have friends that have seen the same but no experience hunting deer over cotton. I always thought that wheat would be better than cotton. Any experience or help with this.

He did same to us last year and this year. He is rotating spots. We see deer crossing the cotton fields. Never saw them feeding in it. Did not seem to hurt sightings of deer.

They usually start stripping cotton during bow season if it isn't too wet.

There are some cootn fields just east of town where I live (Rockwall area) and there are always deer tracks all over the fields. Do not know they are ating or just pasing through, but thy are not bothered by it
