    bowhunting in the rain

Looks like we may have some rain on opening day here. Any suggestions on hunting in the rain from a tripod? How does the rain affect the bow, arrow, etc. Any special bow clean up tips afterward? I usually just sit in a pop up if it is raining but my opening day hunt does not have that option.

watch out for water in the peep; it will get in there and you will not be able to see through it. every once i awhile blow air through the peep to get the water out. also be prepared when you shoot; when you let that string go water explodes off the string. you will think the bow blew up; it can scare the hell out of you.

just put a little wd on your metal parts afterwards to keep the rust down

After you dry off the bow, gently tap it on the floor to get the rest of the water out. There are always a few drops hiding in the nooks and crannies that you miss.

Use quality rain gear to stay dry and once the rain lets up get ready cause the deer will start moving.

I too enjoy hunting on rainy days but know your blood trail may be non-existant or short lived depending on the amt. of rain.

Does water on the arrow affect flight?
