    Which Release???

About to buy a new release, and looking at the Tru-Fire Hurricane, Scott Caliper, and the Scott Shark. I know for sure I want a buckle strap release. What do you guys think?

Also, can somebody tell me the advantages/disavantages of a single caliper release vs. the double calipers (such as the Scott Little Goose)?

I like the Hurricane. I've used the little goose and a tru ball I'm not sure which, they were okay but I like the hurricane better.

Ive got the scott mongoose and it works great. I would like to try the mew Tru Fire Edge with the fold back caliper. Pretty cool idea, gets it out of the way until you need it.

I use a Carter 2 Shot because I like the heavier trigger pull so there is a lot less chance of accidental release do to a hare trigger

I use a Tru-fire Edge buckle foldback. I like it because it has a small head and double calipers.

I like Scott releases. I can't tell you the advantage of a single caliper vs double caliper but when I used both the arrow impact seemed to be different so if you have a primary and a back up I would make sure both are single or both are double.

I like the large knurled trigger like on the Scott little goose deluxe or the wildcat. I am currently using the wildcat because it has the forward trigger so it lets me shoot 1/2" longer draw length.

If you are shooting with a Loop, I'd recommend these these two by Scott.
Simple to use and no pinch & wear on the loop. I am still using my old model Rhino since "98", I've changed the Velcro straps 3 times now but, still using the same head. Hope these helps.

I shoot the Scott Wildcat with a buckle and really like it. I was told that the single caliper is more consistent because it has less moving parts. This was my first release so I can't really compare the two. Native Outdoors had a good deal on the Wildcats not too long ago, you might check it out. Good luck this season.

I use a hurricane buckle. Rock solid, no stretch, no velcro noise. I like the symmetry of the double style caliper a well - seems to be smoother.

interesting discussion. is it mainly a personal preference? is one better then another?

I shoot the Scott Little Bitty Goose Deluxe. Its a single caliper with a cord attaching the head to the wrist strap. The only difference in the double and single calipers is the double has the potential for both jaws not to open exactly at the same time. Which would caus erratic arrow flight. Thats just what ive heard.
