The 70's were not good to me.....

I have a stupid computer question. Although I can do just about anything I want with a computer I have a stupid question.

1 GIG equals how many Moultre I40 pics (assuming its working) on the lower pic quality setting

How many on the high quality setting?

How many is 256MG vs. 1 GIG ?

    Thanks

    256mb is about a 1/4 of a 1mb

I think all I remember from back then is how many grams in an ounce..... life was so much simpler back then.

1727 ish pics is what I got on low for a 1 gig on a moultrie I40 if I remember correctly. When you put the card in your camera it will tell you on the digital display in auto mode.

"000 of 1700" or something like that....

            I know for a fact I got 3478 on a 2 gig....

The I40 is 4mega pixels so 523 pics for 1g card more on lower setting.

That's just about right. I think if set on high resolution, w/ 1 gig the picture number drops to around 1,200.

                  FYI - 1,000 megabytes = 1 gig

That would have to be on higher setting......but don't think that chart is totally correct....

Do you have the card and camera or are you shopping for the right card size? I know you said you had ordered the camera but hadn't read anything on your receipt of it.

Like I mentioned above the camera will read your card and tell you on the display what you can get on each setting . I used a 1 and /or 2 gig on low and it was perfect. That should get you started in the right direction.

Spur...I did this myself at first many moons ago with my regular cameras, but you might be confusing 4.0 MP (megapixels) of the trail camera with MB (megabytes) of the storage card which is data writing storage speak ....
