    Used motor oil disposal

Where do y'all take used motor oil? I don't know of any place near me (Flower Mound) that takes it, so it just keeps accumulating in my garage. I've got about 20 gallons right now that I need to get rid of, and it's about time to change my oil again, so that will be 4 more gallons.

Any suggestions? Honestly, I'd feel kinda guilty hauling 24 gallons of oil to an auto parts store or oil change place cause I know they have to pay for disposal.

Autozone will allow you to bring in up to 5 gallons of oil at a time.

walmart and o`reileys will take up to 5 gallons at a time to.I got rid of 10 gallons I had collected last week over the last couple of years but still have 7 more to get rid of. I think I am going to pour it on the grass and kill it along my pasture fence.

            Doh!

If ya feel bad about just dropping it all off at the auto parts store, give'em ten bucks or so.

Town of Flower Mound. Hazardous Waste Disposal. 972/874-6333. Ms. Ernie Goucher

apparently there is a fall drop off

I've got about fifteen or so gallons to get rid of too.

Thanks, Pep Boys for putting 19 quarts in my truck!

Just put it all outside the store and they can worry about it. That or drop off 5 gals here and 5 gallons there and soon enough it will all be gone

Yes, 20 gallons! At 4 gallons per oil change it doesn't take long!

Oh, it's seperated! I've got twenty gallon jugs sitting in the corner of my garage!

Drop it off at any of the above places. I wouldn't feel guilty about it. The reclamation charges are figured into every bottle of oil that you buy.

This is true just like batteries and tires you pay for it.

Mixed with diesel it works great as a wood preservative for trailers floors and such.
