just thought i'd throw this out to the GS warriors. This last friday three amazing hero's got their angels wings when the Carolina AirCare EMS Helicopter crashed after take off just north of Charleston South Carolina. Pilot, Nurse and Paramedic were lost. I spent many years getting in and out of an EMS helicopter in DFW, and then in Charleston with the crews for the program there. This, like any other crash, is a devasting loss... not only for the victims and their families, but for those left behind that have the daunting task of waking up each morning, looking at their family and reassuring them that they will be home for dinner. I always knew that not coming home was a possibility as Heli EMS can be a dangerous profession. I was blessed enough to make it home at the end of every shift and i'm thankful for that. Seeing this happen is never an easy thing and it's compounded when it hits close to home. Please pray for the three crew members and their family. Send one up for the crews that were also their "work family" that have to muster up the strength to get back in an aircraft and do what they have been chosen to do. Lastly, take a minute to thank someone who risks their life not because they have to, but because they choose to in order to help a stranger... LEO, Fire, EMS etc.
