All is good with the rifle.
I had it sighted in in 7 rounds and the managed recoil hit 1" right of standard loads. (only shot 2 of those since the boy will be getting some range time w/ it soon)
One note on the managed recoil, they felt LIGHT. Like a .223 or .22 mag.
Funny thing was you could hear the bullet hit the paper after the boom died down. It wasn't a huge delay, but reminded me of shooting my .44 mag at 100 yards.
Back to the safe, how involved would replacing the digital lock with a manual dial and lock be?
Before I purchased this safe I called and asked about the reliability of the electronic locks and was assured they had a lower failure raiting than the a manual dial and lock, Hmmmmm.

It is not too involved, and fairly easy to do. That being said, I am a locksmith and have been doing this a little over 10 years. I would first recommend having it done by a professional, as there are a couple steps which need close attention. If you are insistent on doing it yourself, I'd be happy to guide you, step by step, with pictures. PM me for all the details if you like.

When I was asking how involved, I was more or less meaning how much $$$$ would be involved? sorry to beat around the bush.
If it was a DIY job, would the 2 hours with a drill (mentioned previously) be part of the task ?

Dave,
With the safe open already, my normal charges, including dial, lock, installation, and trip charge would run around $250.00 before tax. I just did an install in the shop, taking pictures along the way. I could do a D-I-Y post if you are interested, in fact, I'll put it up in a bit with a major disclaimer. Watch for it coming soon!
