I would not eat it if I were you. Instead I'd throw the pot back on the stove, go buy two 24 packs of Lone Star beer, put it all on ice, and then I'd announce to all the TBHers out there that deer chilli was on the stove and there was free Lone Star in the ice chest.

Watch the first four or five guys for a few minutes. If they don't croak, it's safe to get you a bowl. Oh, and don't forget to post your address and what time the beer will be cold!

My grandmother was from the city and told me a story about the first time she visited my grandfather's family in the hills. She said after dinner they would leave the leftover food on the table, cover it with the table cloth and leave it overnight. Next morning flip down the table cloth and there's breakfast.

Yes, I have left chili out overnight and never gotten sick from eating it.

What would you do? Room temp last night was 70 degrees.

pssshhh...nothing wrong with that....as long as there weren't any little friends eating on it overnight, I would just give it a quick second cooking and have at it...whatever might have been growing, if anything at all, is now extra protein!

                CHOW DOWN!

(just make sure you have some immodium, kaopectate and pepto around, )
