    Transporting to Processor

This will be my first archery season and I've never hunted in weather as warm as it can potentially be here in October. The drive to home and the processor I'll use is close to an hour and a half. For those of you who take your deer to a processor and have a bit of a drive, what do you do to keep it cool in the back of the truck? Just thow some bags of ice around it or do you do anything special?

If it's really warm you should quarter it and ice it in a cooler. If it's kinda cool, you might get away with throwing a few bags of ice in the body cavity.
If I didn't think my opinion was right, then it wouldn't be my opinion. So, any other opinion must be wrong, therefore stupid.

I'm only 15 miles from the processor and I always quarter my deer during bow season. Plus it saves me a little money.

Quarter the deer and put him in a cooler full of ice. Put the meat right in the cooler. Don't use any plastic bags or anything. (side note, I heard colored garbage bags have a bit of poison in them to keep bugs out of them). Keep putting ice on the deer and draining off the bloody water for two, three, even four days to get all the blood out. Then take it to the processor.

I always quarter my deer, and let them sit in the ice chect for 3-4 days with a little vinegar in there...then take them to the processor or do it myself.

Quarter it up if you know how, and get ice on it asap.
PLEASE DON'T THROW IT ACROSS YOUR TOOLBOX,HOOD,BUMPER,TRUNK, AND DRIVE IT AROUND FOR 4 HOURS put in the bed.
            Please??
