    If I buy this....

does it have everything I need like the part that goes to the tree and the rope or whatever between the vest and the jacket?

NO. It apparently does not come with the tie off. This one is the complete package for $20 more.

I know it comes down to preference, and I prefer the not vest style. The buckles are way big, and put a lot of pressure on the berries if you know what I mean. The SOP lays a lot flatter and is more streamlined IMO. And hey this is great to see you getting one.

    PM sent also.

My boss bought a vest last year and the sizes were not as descibed, I would try them on if possible before dropping the coin

No matter which one you get it doesn't mean much unless you have a LIFE LINE. You tie the life line off at the bottom of the tree and the top. It's a static line you hook into at the bottom and top when going up and down. You have a Prusik knot and carabiner that clips into your vest, if you slip and fall on the way up or down or while getting in or out of your stand, you'll live another day. Something like 80% of all falls from a treestand happen getting in or out of the stand.

Wearing a harness without the use of a life line is like wearing a rubber with a hole in the end of it.
          I'm just saying.

I have the first one that you listed. It has everything but the life line that FD is talking about.

I don't know if it's the best one, but it's 100x better then the ones that come with stand.

                Good luck in your search.
