Thoughts on Primos BLOODHUNTER Tracker Light

Has anyone here had any experience with these? Our new lease is very thick and I was just thinking that if these work as advertised that it might come in handy.

I have one. Can't really tell that it helps. A good light and a keen eye do just as well.

I would take the money and put it towards a good xenon bulb flash light. (surefire, streamlight) Also the Sears UltraBeam is way overlooked, too big to carry in a pack but great to keep in the truck. The xenon bulbs are super bright and have a whit light (not yellowish like a Mag light ect.) Good luck this season

Me and my friend tracked a doe last year with his and I had a stream light and a LED cap light. We could not see any advantage with the blood light over my lights.

I got one last year for the heck of it but never had to use it in the brush. I did try it on some blood on the tailgate and if I held it just right it did seem to make the blood redder than a xenon bulb.

I think the odds of me getting it just right in real life is pretty low. As others have said a bright bulb seems to work fine. If I was to do it again I'd spend the money to get the brightest light I could find.

I got some luminol (the CSI stuff) from a friend and that works pretty cool. It makes the blood glow under black light. I haven't tried it in the field but it works great in the back yard. I'm hoping the black-light (old heavy portable fishing black light) won't draw the bugs as bad if it comes up.

I haven't found a source for the luminol locally but I have a small bottle from my friend.

I've heard of people using hydrogen peroxide out of a spray bottle. White foam would be easier to see in a light than blood is.

I found that unless the blood is very fresh it does not help. I would not spend the money again.

As mentioned above, put the white head on your Marauder. We tested it side by side against the 'blood tracking' lights in Uvalde. The other guys all agreed they liked the Marauder better than their lights.
