I recently bought a new bow to replace my old Hoyt Intruder. The draw lengths should be same, that is that the new bow should be set at 29" just like the Hoyt. However, the Hoyt feels longer and the Kronik feels shorter. I am not sure if it is because the ATA is shorter and it is just different or what. Anyway, the string is set in the hole marked "29" but it seems like the draw is limited by the little knob pictured below... I have no idea but am curious as to what adjusting the "knob" which looks like a stopper, does. Single cam bows are new to me... Any help would be great! Thanks!

Question about adjusting stuff (pic)

Be real careful with adjusting that, and move in VERY small steps. If you go to far, you could over rotate the cam, and lock it at full draw!!! You might be able to check the Bowtech website, since I think they make the kronik for BPS, and get the specs for that cam set, so you will know where to set it.

That looks a lot like the cam on my Black Ice (Diamond, made by Bowtech, as mentioned above.) There is a set point for the draw stop that is dictated by which module you have installed. For example, I have the number 3 module in mine, but the draw stop is set at 7.2 I think, it's strange. Anyway, you need to look up exactly where that stop is supposed to be set, then it can be adjusted right or left by one half unit either way, no more. It changes the "valley" and the letoff. When I had the longer cam in mine, I had it adjusted as far right as I could to shorten the draw a bit, and it did, BUT it also made me hold more weight.

Yeah, I probably need to get it to a reputable tech. BPS is not gonna work. I moved it to 9 and it just didn't seem to shoot well tonight. I can't really put my finger on why, but I just could not get it dialed in.
Of course I read the last two suggestions after the fact. I am going to set it back to where it was and go see the bow doctor. I need to get this figured out quick!
Time to check the Bowtech site... BTW, the only reason I considered a BPS house brand item was the fact that it was made by Bowtech! I love their bows... but the Hostage rest... not so much.Last edited by dbl_duck; 09-22-2009, 09:57 PM.

You didn't hurt anything. The only way to really set the draw stop is on a draw board. Messing with it blindly is going to throw your let off out of whack (and, possibly, other stuff), and a 1/32nd" change makes a difference.
I would either get it on a draw board and set it the right way or take it to a shop and have them reset it.
