Many of you guys remember that I'm moving to West Monroe, Louisiana next Tuesday, and will miss all but one week of deer season this year in TX. Since I only had one week I could take off work, I planned to spend the majority of that week in San Angelo at the ranch I've hunted for the past few years. Well, I found out this week, that I wasn't going to be able to shoot a buck this year at the ranch. It's a long story I guess, but was a total ******* to me, and I'd put all my hopes on this one spot to get every bit of TX season I could get. Needless to say, I was devastated, and felt like my chances of killing a TX buck this season were completely gone.
Fortunately, I have a few small spots close to home (or what's been home until next week) that I still have access to. Neither spot is ideal, but both have occasional good deer that will show up. I checked my camera today just praying that there'd be a ******* buck on some of the pictures. I guess the Lord is taking care of me again, or at least giving me hope.
He's not really a monster, but he's my only shot this year as far as I know. Needless to say, I'll spend every free hour I have back in TX, waiting on a shot. I've got a ton of pictures of this guy over the past 2 weeks, some in daylight, but a LOT in the dark. Hopefully he'll make a mistake and get hungry while it's shooting light!!!
All my daylight pics are either blurry, or show him with his head down/eating. Based on these pics, anybody got any guesses on score?
And for the record, this is a SMALL acreage spot, and is impossible to manage. He's a shooter on this place without question.
