seven top or purple top turnips

so a good friend of mine told me to plant turnips at the lease. he said that the deer love them.... he gave me direction and told me that it would work great.. so which one is easier, or less fool proof.. Please give me you thoughts. and the way you planted them....

Purple tops if you can find them. They are great. Deer will keep them mowed like carpet and they do very well right now. Ours have been in the ground for 3 weeks. They green up in just a few days if you get some rain on them.

Alot of TV shows talk about Brassica food plots. Turnips are a Brassica, and yes deer love them. I have planted them just by throwing the seed and covering them up. Key factor is rain.
