When I was a kid of about five, I would catch them, tie a string on them and lead them around like a dog on a leach. That is until the cat go it and there i was, string in one hand and the other end in the cats mouth.

Diatamatious earth will run them off and the bugs too. Sprinkle it around the base boards and try to keep away from water, it don't work well wet.

As everyone has said, the geckos eat alot of bugs. That is why they are next to your light, easy food source. Take the bugs out of the picture and the geckos will go too, a bug zapper or citronella would probably work. Other than that siccing a cat or a cajun on the geckos would do the trick.
I personally find them to be amazing little animals.

How did you get them potti trained ?

I have a colony on my front porch & some real messy ones in my well house ( eggs & doodoo) everywhere.

They will also pounce on a spider. the dodo washes off easy.

Have you heard? They eat a lot of bugs! I went to put something in my bow case earlier today. There was a baby one trapped down in one of the holes on the outside of the case. We rescued it and let it go in another room! Haven't seen any "sign" they leave behind? Maybe I'll start letting them go outside, or try to house break them when I do.

We catch a little one in the house every couple weeks. Just relocate him to the outside WHERE HE EATS ALOT OF BUGS.

How about using a motion light for the breeze way instead?

I had to do this for the lights on the front of the house due to the bug & spider traffic at night. No more bugs & lights when I need them.
