    hoyt decipherage....

Picked up a 2004 Hoyt Ultratec XT3000 in trade for some ammo....trying to figure out if the cams have been changed out...

it has the moduled cam 1/2 cams, H-C-RT and H-C-RB with the green modules H3 TR-HL and H3 BR-HL, both modules set on A....

    what do I have here?

You have a 28" (AMO) bow with the module set in the "C" position...

    "D" is 28.5" (AMO)

    "B" would be 27.5" (AMO)

    String 56.5"
    Buss 43.25"
    Control 45.75"

    A2A 41.5"
    Brace 7 5/16"

Give me the deflection # on the limbs and I'll give you the DW range as well...

Oh yeah HL means 75% letoff

the regular sticker that is on the hoyt's is kind of worn but I think it says 50-60 dw. Don't you have to take the limbs loose to get to the number that is actually on the limbs?

      Thanks Mike....

Yep you need to remove the limb to see the Deflection #...

If someone changed out the cams from another size then the DW may be more or less depending on which cam was on it to start.. but then again maybe no one swapped anything...

I was only thinking that something might have been changed because of the moduled cams....but it sounds like it came with moduled cams....

This bow is about 5-6 inches longer than my supertec.

I can tell it's out of tune from the tuning tutelage you gave me.

Cams at rest are not around enough, no cam lean though....need to get a rest and a sight on it and play with it.

still need to get together the press and make myself a drawboard.....

any word on the blob targets?

If its a split limb and you can see the Serial # you can contact Hoyt and they can tell you what cams the bow was built with. If the cam numbers don't match up with what Hoyt has listed in there data base you know for sure the cams have been changed.

Javi, not sure where you got those numbers but going off the 2004 XT3000 chart from hoyt, this is the one that is most matching and working for me....I did find something I had here at the house that works as a bowpress pretty well so i ran it through the wringer and have it pegging the highlighted numbers:

              am I way off base?

Off base, no... I misread your post and thought it said UltraElite... I'll check the charts they gave me back then and see if they've change them since.. This is the chart I went off of for the numbers I posted.. usually the UltraTec and UltraElite are the same specs...

                    Thanks Javi...

The cams are adifferent than on my Supertec so it was a little different getting the cams themselves synced, but in getting those set like you showed me, I adjusted one notch at a time on the module, pulled it back, too short to get to the anchor point as you showed me with the string touching my nose......so I adjusted to the next position and tested and ended up with the D position to get to the right place on anchor and nose with the wall being where you showed my arm was supposed to be, having to not forcibly continue to pull.

Feels pretty good....now to get a site and rest on it and play with it...

                    Thanks again Javi
