I don't use cover scents cause they don't work IMO.
Animals smell right thru that stuff. Their smellers are about 1000 time more developed that ours and they detect each molecule separately= busted.
Only odor eliminators have a chance at working and maybe not even then.
Get up high out of the zone or get inside a good carbon blocked ground blind.
Get neutralized with odor eliminating spray and soap/shampoo. Try not to sweat

There is a new one out that goes way beyond pee.....I saw it advertised on the outdoor channel. It has "Actual vaginal secretions from does in estrus"
Dont know if that is any better than just pee, but I bet they sell a lot of it.
Anyway, as to the original question....our rut hits in December so I'm planning to start using it in early november to try to pick up some pre rut action.

Don't confuse cover scents with sexual attractants. If you use a cover scent , you want it on or near your blind area. Sexual attractants are something you want to put out away from you, more in a location that you might want to take a shot.
These two types of scents are for completely different purposes and may or may not be used at the same time.
