Sounds like my truck (except for the lift). They're good ones!!
If I didn't think my opinion was right, then it wouldn't be my opinion. So, any other opinion must be wrong, therefore stupid.

I think you'll be good. In general you'll be alright, but each vehicle has its own personality.

Engine will run for ever, truck not so much. With a lift you can expect suspension problems with that many miles. King pins, u joints, tie rods, etc would be my concern. Take it to a front end expert before you buy.

So the 6.0 was the one to stay away from, right?

The 7.3 is a solid motor, correct?

mostly true, I drove a ford 6.0 for a work truck that turned out to be a good motor. Most of the problems I've heard are from people that chip them.

but yes the 7.3 is far superior.

I haven't heard of how the 7.3's are doing if you run the ULSD, but I know it signifigantly reduced mpg in the '05 chevy duramax i drove

                    X3.

Lift and bigger tires will wear the front end out quicker. Have the front end checked out thoroughly. Front hubs are EXPENSIVE, about $550 each if you do it yourself.

Otherwise the engine should be solid. Only issues I know about with the engine are related to the HPOP system which drives the fuel injectors and the CPS which you said has already been replaced.

I wish I still had mine.

I have a 2002 F-350 dually 4x4 and I love everything about it until I fill up (12-14 mpg). I am running 410 gears which does not help.
Other than that it is a solid truck. I agreee with some of the other post about the lift kit but if you can fix those problems yourself they are relativly low cost fixes. Buy with confidence as far as the engine is concerned.

Not trying to argue but I just replaced my right front hub and it was $220 at NAPA.

Are you talking about the entire hub assembly not just the locking mechanism?

If so, they have come down in price significantly. When I replaced mine a few years back, a remanufactured unit was $375 from O'Reilly and that was the cheapest I could find. Then I had to buy all new seals and they were only available from Ford and they were $106.

If you move forward, ditch the K&N, find a stock donaldson airbox/filter to put back on it. The donaldson flows more air that the motor can use & can hold muliple lbs of dirt.

Might wanna also think about running some DieselKleen (grey bottle).
